This substantial scarab pendant has been formed in solid sterling silver and set with one electric green and one golden green tourmaline. Modelled from a genuine beetle, each scarab in the collection has incredible texture and intricate detail on all sides. In ancient Egyptian mythology, scarabs were associated with the divinity of the sun. The scarab represented the creation, transformation, and renewal of the universe, and they were commonly used by ancient Egyptians as protective talismans in life and death. This unique pendant is set with mixed colour tourmalines, gemstones that the ancient Egyptians believed passed over a rainbow on their journey up from the centre of the Earth. Associated with energy, soul-searching, and the releasing of tension, tourmalines come in a wide rainbow of colours. Each pendant in the Scarab Collection is designed by Edie and handcrafted by skilled artisans in London’s historic jewellery neighbourhood, Hatton Garden.
This scarab pendant comes in four options of chain: an 18 inch sterling silver diamond cut wheat chain (1.5mm), a 22 or 18 inch sterling silver wheat chain (1.5mm), or an 18 inch sterling silver rounded box chain (1mm).
